The Wall Street Journal: Vice President Mike Pence says the American people deserve a safe presidential inauguration and a smooth transfer of power

Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday that the American people “deserve” a smooth transfer of power, in remarks to leaders of some of the agencies in charge of security for the Jan. 20 inauguration in Washington.

“We are going to ensure that we have a safe inauguration, that President-elect Joe Biden, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are sworn in as the president and vice president of the United States in a manner consistent with our history, with our traditions, in a way that gives honor to the American people and to the United States,” Pence said at a security briefing at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
