If you’re finally planning a gathering for this summer, or just like to have wine on hand at home, this wine deal (15 expert-picked wines for $7 a bottle with code MARKET15) may be just what you’ve been looking for. Here’s what you need to know before you buy.
The deal: Wine Insiders is offering 15 bottles of expert-recommended wine (a mix of red and white) from around the globe for about $72 with coupon code MARKET15. Shipping is $29.95. All in, that shakes out to about $7 a bottle, not including tax. (Many of the bottles typically retail for around $12.99 – $15.99 per bottle.) There is no obligation to join a wine club to get this deal.
What the wines are like: The selection can vary but some of the wines that might be included are the 2019 Paperbark Cabernet Sauvignon from south Australia (normally $15.99), which offers a nice balance of tannins and ripe fruit with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, and oak (pair it with red sauce pasta or a meat like a burger or steak); and the crisp 2020 El Vigia Reserva Sauvignon Blanc from Central Valley, Chile (normally $15.99), which offers hints of yellow lemon, pineapple and white flowers (this pairs well with fresh seafood). Other wines you might get: Cantina Di Solopaca Bianco I.G.P.; 2019 Lone Vine Winemaker’s Selection Pinot Grigio; 2019 Belfiore Chardonnay Trevenezie I.G.T.; Villa Rosa Vinho Tinto; 2017 Fuerza de la Tierra Crianza Tempranillo; 2019 La Fea Selección Especial Tinto Rojo; 2018 Château Le Vieux Chêne Bordeaux Rouge. See more details here.
What we like about the deal: Wine Insiders generally gets good reviews online, with 845 consumers on review site SiteJabber giving it 4.6 out of 5 stars (with more than 94% positive reviews in the past year) and ConsumerAdvocate.org giving it a 4.8 out of 5 stars. The wines are expert-picked, and the company says it only approves about 5 out of every 100 sampled. Plus, unlike some spots, you don’t have to join the wine club to get the deal, and the bottles are delivered right to your door. You can also now buy sets of rose, red and whites at a discount.
BUY NOW: Get deal here and be sure to put in coupon code MARKET15.
Things to consider before you buy: You don’t get to pick what wines are in your selection, and, of course, there’s a risk you won’t like some of the wines sent to you, though the reviews of Wine Insiders are generally positive. The company won’t ship to these states: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Utah.
The bottom line: If you like many wines and want to try new bottles without the hassle of picking them out in the store, this deal probably makes sense for you. If you’re pickier, have your local wine store give your in-store recommendations instead.

About this Deal of the Day column:
I’m a cheapskate (loud and proud!), and it’s my job to find MarketWatch readers great deals. It’s not always easy. What I call “fake deals” (things that seem discounted, but really aren’t, or are always discounted, so aren’t real deals) are everywhere. So in this column, everything I highlight is a deal that I vetted and determined was actually a good one. Write me at chill@marketwatch.com if you find a great deal, so I can share with all MarketWatch readers.
