ICYMI - GM to cut production at eight North American assembly plants due to the semiconductor shortage

Adam posted last week that US auto sales fell to 3.01m in August in a drop from 3.43m the month before,

In that post was the news out of General Motors in the US:

  • to reduce production at most North American assembly plants this month because of the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage, hitting its profitable truck and sport utility vehicles,

GM is the largest U.S. automaker. Stoppages will hit eight North American assembly plants in September.
