China officials say coal output is at its highest in recent years

The National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC) with the statement.

The state planner says:

• China's average daily coal output for November 1 to 5 hit 11.7m tonnes
• up by more than 1.2m tonnes from the end of September

Adds that daily coal output hit 11.93m tonnes at one point, which is a multi-year high
